Thursday Tips: Effortless Beauty

What do Halle Berry, Joy Bryant and Nia Long have in common, besides the obvious career choice? All three of them have a wonderful glow about them. They can all pull off this naturally beautiful look with ease. I know they have the advantage of being absolutely gorgeous...but so do you! That's why I'm going to give you bombshells a few tips on how to snag this radiant look for yourself.

Okay, first lets determine which look you want to achieve. Joy Bryant's look is absolutely natural with as little makeup as possible, while Nia Long has a more glamorous natural look going, and Hall Berry is right in the middle. Not too glam and not too bare.

Let's start with the mommy-to-be, Halle Berry...

1.Start out with a basic concealer, don't be afraid of concealer. It's your friend, trust me. You'll want to dot the concealer under your eyes where there tends to be a dark shadow and or dark circles. Dab the concealer on any blemishes or pimples you may have as well. Next, blend it in to the skin gently.

2.Now get your cosmetic sponge, (I like the cheap wedges, their disposable) or foundation brush and dab just a little foundation under you eyes in the same fashion as the concealer, dot your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, jawline, and lightly dab your eyelids as well. Putting a little foundation on your eyelids gives your eyeshadow something to grab on to.

3.Blend it into the skin well.

4.For Halle's perfect eyes, use a black eyeliner on the top lid only. Let's not outline the entire lid. Start from the middle of your eyelid, get as close to the lashes as possible and draw a straight line. No cat-like extension beyond the eye please.

5.Use a very sheer pearl shadow on your lids. A gold tone will work best for this look. Use an eyeshadow brush and apply the shadow to your lids up to the crease only. Swipe a bit of gold shadow on your lower lid as well for a slight highlight. Then top it off with a black water-proof mascara.

6.For nude lips simply pick a sheer nude lip gloss and apply it.

Next up is the lovely Miss Joy Bryant...

1.Joy's look is uber-simple. Start out with a tinted moisturizer, and apply it to your face just as you would any other moisturizer.

2.Apply a coat of black water-proof mascara to your lashes. Top and bottom.

3.Apply eyeshadow with an eyeshadow brush. Try a sheer pink, lilac or mauve.

4.Joy is wearing a very sheer blush. Try CoverGirl, Pretty Peach and apply it to the apples of your cheeks. Find your apples by smiling, the part of your cheek that rises, the one your grandma pinches? Those are your apples. Apply the blush very lightly and blend it in well.

5.Go for the nude lips and use a lip gloss instead of lipstick. You're done!

For the more glamorous natural look, go for Miss Nia.

1.Start out with concealer again. Just as you did for Halle's look. Dot under the eyes, on your blemishes and blend in with your fingers.

2.Use a light foundation (Maybelline has a line called Pure Makeup made with water) and apply it to your face just at you read for Halle's look. Also, extend the application to your neck, just where the shadow falls. Blend it in well.

3.Since Nia's look is more glam, you'll need to use a black eyeliner and line both your top and bottom lids. For the bottom, line the inside rim gently, while looking in a mirror, draw a line, following your lid's contour from the corner to the outter edge.

4.Apply a mauve or medium purple eyeshadow to your top lids. Apply the shadow to the crease and bring it up slightly above it so the shadow doesn't hide behind your lashes when you open your eyes.

5.Apply black, water-proof mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

6.Nia is also wearing a light blush. Pick out a sheer, neutral color and lightly dust the apples of your cheeks then blend it in gently with a brush. It may help to use a circular motion.

7.More nude lips. You know the deal. Pick a nude gloss and apply.

8.To get Nia's shimmery look, use a loose powder bronzer on your face last. To apply it, use the applicator that comes with the bronzer. Tap the brush/poof on the side of the jar, or into your hand and shake off any excess powder, then lightly dust your face, neck and any other exposed areas like the shoulders.

Now go out and stun the world with your natural glow and beautiful face! Stay beautiful ladies.
